Bio

Thank you for taking an interest in me, my work and stopping by to read a little about me.

I am a Tampa, FL area based freelance photographer that shoots commercial and editorial stock photography, but my true passion is capturing memories of children and youth athletics.

In addition to shooting stock images and children, I have a real love for nature and enjoy capturing all types of wildlife, landscapes... as you will see in my portfolio, just about anything having to do with nature.

Background

I enjoyed photography as a hobby for many years. Starting at a very young age with cameras such as a Polaroid instamatic, to a Kodak "disc" camera, borrowing dad's 35mm and eventually being able to afford my own 35mm camera. Later while playing professional paintball, I was able to trade some of my tournament painball gear for the 35mm camera gear I still own today.

While taking some classes in the mid 90s, I heard about a digital camera from a classmate, which really intrigued me. In 1999 I aquired my first digital camera, a 2.1 mp. While not great for large printing, it was capable of producing images like these two images of the Downtown Tampa skyline - image1 / image2

In 2003, after buying a digital SLR, I made the switch to digital and have not looked back.

Equipment

A variety of SLR camera bodies, lenses ranging in length from 12mm - 400mm, teleconverters, both on-camera and off-camera flash and other accessories.
